SUMMARY:McMinnville Chess Club at Cruising McMinnville's Kids Zone
DESCRIPTION:McMinnville Chess Club is for all ages and skill levels\, and our members enjoy open play\, timed and untimed games\, opportunities for chess study and lessons\, and the nicest chess club players you’ll ever meet in town. \nWe meet this Saturday\, August 23rd from 11-4pm in the Kids Zone in the Praise Church parking lot during Cruising McMinnville.  \nWe’ll have club-provided sets and clocks (first-come\, first-served) and the McMinnville Chess Library\, a curated collection of books\, magazines\, and equipment available to our members to check out and take home to aid their journey in the game that we love. Guests are welcome to browse the Chess Library\, and we welcome donations to the library at our events. \n(Check out our calendar of events! We also meet every Wednesday evening at Mac Market and will be back at Harvest Fresh Grocery & Deli next Saturday\, August 30th.) \nThis event is free to members and guests alike\, and no ticket or RSVP is necessary. Please contact us if you have any questions. \nABOUT OUR VENUEThe Kids Zone during Cruising McMinnville is brought to you by Cub Scout Pack 454 and Troop 266! \nThis year\, the Kids Zone features a 9-hole putt-putt course\, delicious hot dog meals\, refreshing Kona Ice\, face painting\, and a variety of handmade items from local kids — and plenty of chess to enjoy with the McMinnville Chess Club. \nKids Zone at Praise Church930 3rd St.McMinnville\, Oregon 97128 \nMany thanks to Cub Scout Pack 454 and Troop 266 for having us!  \nWHAT TO BRINGPlease bring a chess board and clock (if you have them). The more boards there are\, the more people can play. Chess clocks are welcome but not necessary. The “Chess Clock by Chess.com” app is good to use in a pinch. \nMembers are asked to enjoy responsibly and to keep open containers away from game boards and equipment\, bring their own chess clocks and boards (BYOB!)\, and are expected to agree to our Community Code of Conduct for a fun\, supportive space for everyone. \nThanks so much\, and we look forward to seeing you at our event! \n\nMcMinnville Chess Club is an affiliate club registered with the United States Chess Federation (USCF)\, allowing our members to host and play in our rated tournaments and climb the chess ladder with an official\, nationally recognized chess rating.
