If you have experienced or reasonably suspect misconduct, abuse, or neglect at any of our online or over-the-table events, please contact us or any of the relevant organizations below.

McMinnville Chess Club

McMinnville Chess Club has a Community Code of Conduct (our Principles of Club Etiquette) that can be consulted for many situations, including good sportsmanship and how to ask for help. For situations where our code of conduct may not apply, we have also adopted the US Chess SafePlay Policy and the US Center for SafeSport Code.

In addition, our Club Director and Tournament Directors (TDs) are mandatory reporters, meaning we have a duty to report known or suspected abuse or neglect relating to:

  • Youth
  • Elderly persons
  • Dependent adults
  • Adults with disabilities.

McMinnville Chess Club and US Chess are committed to providing a safe environment for all chess players. As a US Chess affiliate, the McMinnville Chess Club complies with the US Chess Safe Play Policy for any US Chess-rated tournament, sanctioned activity, and chess-related event.

US Center for SafeSport

McMinnville Chess Club and US Chess requires our Tournament Directors (TDs) to receive training and certification by U.S. Center for SafeSport before they can be certified by US Chess.
