McMinnville Chess Club is for all ages and skill levels, and our members and guests enjoy free, open play events, rated and unrated tournaments, resources and opportunities for chess study and lessons, and the nicest chess club members you’ll ever meet in town.
McMinnville Chess Club was founded in March, 2023 in McMinnville, Oregon, and we began holding regular meetings about twice a month starting May, 2023. We now have about 6 official meetings a month (every Wednesday evening and 1st & 3rd Saturday afternoons!) and occasional popups and special events.
Everyone is welcome! Our regulars include beginners, intermediate players, grandmaster-level players, former Oregon state champions, and everyone in between. We also have a Chess.com hangout for our club where you can play dozens of McMinnville Chess Club members online. To join, come to a club meeting and ask to be added by an organizer.
Attending chess club is and has always been free to non-members (guests), and donations are gratefully accepted. There are a number of ways to help and contribute, including joining a committee, making a donation on our website or at one of our club meetings, adding books to the McMinnville Chess Library, and, perhaps most importantly, becoming a registered member.
Thank you so much for visiting McMinnville Chess Club. We hope to meet you in person and get to know you at our events!
