McMinnville Chess Club at Stickmen Brewing Company

McMinnville Chess Club is for all ages and skill levels, and our members enjoy open play, timed and untimed games, opportunities for chess study and lessons, and the nicest chess players you’ll ever meet in town.
We meet every Monday from 5:30 – 8:30pm at Stickmen Brewing Company, and our members and guests are invited to enjoy a full evening of chess and Stickmen’s friendly staff, abundant indoor seating, an outdoor patio, and a wide selection of drinks, salads, and wood-fired pizzas. Mondays are industry night, and anyone working in the industry can enjoy $2 off all pints and cocktails.
We’ll have club-provided sets and clocks (first-come, first-served) and the McMinnville Chess Library, a curated collection of books, magazines, and equipment available to our members to check out and take home to aid their journey in the game that we love. Guests are welcome to browse the Chess Library, and we welcome donations to the library at our events.

ABOUT OUR VENUE
Stickmen Brewing Company’s pub and patio on Northeast Lafayette is the third location from the Tualatin-based brewery. It’s a spacious dining room with 75 seats, two giant televisions, 28 taps, and garage-style doors that roll up to the street-facing patio. The heart of the menu is wood-fired pizzas cooked in a giant, handsome oven using a variety of alder, oak, cherry, and other hardwoods.

WHAT TO BRING
Please bring a chess board and clock (if you have them). The more boards there are, the more people can play. Chess clocks are welcome but not necessary. The “Chess Clock by Chess.com” app is good to use in a pinch.
Members are asked to enjoy responsibly and to keep open containers away from game boards and equipment, bring their own chess clocks and boards (BYOB!), and are expected to agree to our Community Code of Conduct for a fun, supportive space for everyone.
