McMinnville Chess Club at Mac Market

McMinnville Chess Club is for all ages and skill levels, and our members enjoy open play, timed and untimed games, opportunities for chess study and lessons, and the nicest chess players you’ll ever meet in town.
We meet every Wednesday from 5:30 – 8:30pm at Mac Market, a collaborative and community-driven eating, drinking, shopping and gathering place housed in a renovated, historic warehouse in the Granary District in beautiful McMinnville, Oregon.
ABOUT OUR VENUE
Offering several drink and food options, Mac Market is home to Bohdi Bakery Bar, Honey Pie Pizza, Hayward restaurant, Sustainable Rituals, Wellspent Market, plus private and public events — including the McMinnville Chess Club!
Members are asked to enjoy responsibly and to keep open containers away from game boards and equipment, bring their own chess clocks and boards (BYOB!), and are expected to agree to our Community Code of Conduct for a fun, supportive space for everyone.

We’re meeting upstairs in the Mezzanine where there are plenty of tables to accommodate our club. On evenings that it’s not reserved by other customers, we may use the Ivy Room for future lessons and chess talks. Many thanks to Mac Market for having us since our first regular club meeting in May, 2023!
Please support our venue by making a purchase. Grab a drink at Bakery Bar or a slice at Honey Pie, join us upstairs in the Mezzanine, and sign in at our Welcome table. Unfortunately the upstairs area is not ADA-accessible, so please contact an organizer in advance of this event so that we can work to accommodate your needs.
WHAT TO BRING
Please bring a chess board and clock (if you have them). Mac Market’s game table has 2 chess boards that are first-come, first-served, and there are also other board games available — by all means, however, please bring your own. The more boards there are, the more people can play.
Chess clocks are welcome but not necessary. The “Chess Clock by Chess.com” app is good to use in a pinch.
